Michelle is 23

So I went to a friend’s small birthday party without knowing their home address. All I know is their from QC. I was so confident I would get there as I’ve already been there once.
LRT 1 extension wasn’t available so I had to get off at Monumento. I spent almost 30 minutes looking for jeepneys going to Munoz. When I was already riding one, I realized I don’t know when to get off because I couldn’t figure out the landmarks they gave me. At one point, almost all of the passengers got off and I almost went with the crowd but my instinct tells otherwise.
It was in the market where I looked for that jeepney that’ll finally take me to my destination. Ang tanga ko talaga. I don’t even know the street where I was going. Project 8, Dona texted, and I should get off at BPI to meet our blocmate Roujahn.
I asked the driver to pull over when I saw the very first BPI branch on the way. And then there was Roujahn. I wasn’t lost at all.
I’ve Missed You Baguio
It was a planned visit to the highlands with John and Rush, but then these two backed out for financial reasons [daw].
I promised myself I wouldn’t pass a year without going up to Baguio. Since I left for Manila in August 2009, I never had the chance (because I never had the money) to visit my second home.
It was July and I really wanna go up there. I want to see my Baguio. I want to feel the humidity. I want to smell the pine breeze. I want to walk up and down Session Road. I want to go boating at Burnham Lake. I want to go bargaining at the night market. I want to see my friends up there and chat and eat and have coffee and get drunk. I wanna do all the fun things I used to do when I was still living in Baguio.
Last week, Mara invited us, people based in Manila, for a drinking session in her place the same Saturday I planned to go up, giving me one more reason to go on with my plan. But then I still wasn’t so sure since I will be going there alone.
Come Saturday, I got up of bed at around 9 a.m. Ate breakfast. Took a bath. Placed some stuff in a huge shoulder bag.
It was like something’s holding me back, not to go on with the trip, (perhaps it’s just plain laziness) but thinking about the fun I would miss made me finally decide to go.
Puso ang Mananaig
“Puso ang mananaig, hindi Pusoy.” (Balaw-ing, 2009)
Official tagline ng PAGTA during volleyball championship game.
Last night, until the next morning, paulit-ulit-ulit-ulit-ulit kong nareceive ang maraming-maraming messages regarding the championship game between Pagta women and Pusoy and Pagta men and pusoy.
I wasn’t able to watch due to academic matters but as the cliche goes, my moral support was with them my beloved organization Pagta.
Kanina nga, when Melisen arrived, I immediately asked her who won. Di kasi nagreply si Tinn from Sports Commitee. She was trying to explain what happened with the game but I interrupted and ask her to just answer my question. Pusoy, she answered with a sad face.
Hindi okay pero ayos na rin. At least umabot sa championship diba? Galing nga ng pagta eh. =)
At least alam ko, hanggang sa huli, puso pa rin ang nanaig. Puso ng bawat manlalaro para manalo.
Seventeenth’s Sem-Starter in Samara
The PIC 17th batch opened the second semester at a beach resort in Aringay, La Union. An ultimate bonding experience for two days. This outing has long been planned but we just didn’t have enough budget and common time. But then Milton, a batchmate who’s now based in Australia has the kindest heart and sent money for our batch outing to be pursued. Indeed, he is generous! Imagine sparing money for an outing even if you wouldn’t be part of it.
So we had the money. Next thing was looking for the perfect place where we could spend a weekend together. When you are in Baguio where everything’s slopy, more often you’ll prefer a weekend getaway in the lowlands. Amidst the cold season, a trip to the beach where we could still enjoy the nature and breath fresh air while bonding is what we unanimously decided.
La Union is the place to be. Being the nearest water trip destination to the City of Pines, well, aside from Asin, we’ve decided to go beaching in the province just below the Cordillera mountains. I’ve been there twice and having enjoyed my past vacations there, I highly recommended the place and so with my other batchmates who’ve been there.
